One food blogger said, “I find the impossible whopper logo’s resemblance to the German flag unsettling.” and my response is “Give me a damn break.” You didn’t like the burger and you want to bitch about the logo.
Burger King introduced the Impossible Whopper – a plant based alternative to the traditional Whopper – earlier this year with lots of fan fair. Reviews are mixed but I think it’s because people are expecting a Whopper and they’re getting a plant based alternative.
If you expect the sweet juicy taste to be exactly the same as the Whopper, you’ll be disappointed. If you’re open to a healthier alternative that still tastes great, you’ll be pleased.
I own stock in Beyond Meat, a plant based alternative meat company who says, “By shifting from animal to plant-based meat, we can address four growing global issues: human health, climate change, constraints on natural resources, and animal welfare.“
I’m still going to eat steak. I’m still going to grill real meat burgers, but I will consider plant-based burgers when they show up in my local grocery store – occasionally.
If you haven’t given the alternative a try, you should.
